Betty Carter

Betty is a Tax Resolution Professional with Wiggam Law in Atlanta, GA. Betty will use her years of collection experience with the Internal Revenue Service to represent individuals and businesses. Betty has extensive experience in collection alternatives and complex tax issues including liens, levy’s and property seizures. Betty will work closely with clients to negotiate installment agreements, establish currently not collectible status, request penalty abatement and submit offers in compromise. Betty will also provide valuable insight into the collection process and procedures.

Betty worked with the Internal Revenue Service for over 40 years. She began her service in taxpayer service and spent most of her years in field collection as a revenue officer working in the areas of general program, offer in compromise and finally in a specialty group involving abusive tax and avoidance transactions.

A native of Memphis, Tennessee, Betty earned her BA in criminal psychology from the University of Memphis. She continued her education by earning an MBA from Brenau University and completed many accounting courses at Georgia State University.

Outside of the office, Betty is an avid walker and gardener. She also enjoys spending time at the lake with her husband and daughter. Betty is a big animal lover and has four cats and one dog, a black lab. Betty also loves college football, especially the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
