Michael McGuire is the office manager at Wiggam Law where she manages daily operations and oversees hiring, benefits, payroll management, human resources, accounts payable, receivables, and monthly billing. Her proactive and organized approach to operations management enables the firm’s attorneys to focus their efforts on clients and their cases. She supports administrative staff by providing the tools and resources that allow them to achieve success in their respective positions. Michael has an intuitive sense about her service to clients’ needs so that all interests are protected, and clients are treated with respect and care.
Prior to joining Wiggam Law in 2018, Michael thrived for nine years in administrative professional roles at one of Emory University’s graduate schools that values integrity, diverse traditions and cultures, and academic excellence. Emory’s president and provost recognized Michael for her excellent administrative support to the Provost Search Advisory Committee and project management for the dean’s five-year reviews. According to Jan Love, Dean of Candler School of Theology, Michael “set a very high bar for extremely effective and highly efficient work, always serving and protecting me and my office in order to achieve the school’s best outcomes.”
A graduate from the University of Georgia with a BA in journalism, Michael’s strong communications and research skills have contributed to her success in each of the positions she has held in a variety of professions, including legal, education, consulting, and advertising. In addition to producing accurate, professional documents, proposals, and reports, she has refined her ability to anticipate needs, creatively solve problems, adapt well to change, and maintain confidentiality. Michael has a wealth of experience planning, managing, and implementing the details of meetings and events from multi-day retreats at resorts to serving a plate of Girl Scout cookies at board meetings. Because there is no typical day in her role, Michael is proactive and organized to allow for the inevitable changes and additions.
Michael enjoys service to her community and is pleased that she has had the opportunity to further her career in several nonprofit organizations. She volunteers with friends and family as her schedule allows. This strong commitment was firmly established with her satisfying work with Coxe Curry & Associates, a fundraising consulting firm serving nonprofit organizations in Michael’s hometown, Atlanta, Georgia.
Michael enjoys reading, dancing, and simplifying her life with her husband, Michael, also an Atlanta native. She seizes every opportunity to spend time with her two adult children and their partners.
