Courtney Justice
With a passion for problem-solving and a genuine commitment to helping individuals navigate complex tax issues, Courtney Justice brings a wealth of experience to our firm as a Senior Associate Attorney.
Prior to joining our practice, Courtney honed her expertise as a Tax Controversy Manager at Windham Brannon in Atlanta, where she adeptly handled penalty abatement and audit reconsideration requests, drafted IRS correspondence, and resolved collection matters. Her experience extends to representing both businesses and individual taxpayers before the IRS and various state taxing authorities during her time as a Senior Tax Consultant at Tax Guard LLC in Westminster, Colorado. There, she skillfully negotiated installment agreements, Offers in Compromise, and Currently Not Collectible status, while also working with the IRS Technical Advisory to secure Certificates of Subordination.
As a Tax Attorney at Polston Tax Resolution & Accounting in Norman, Oklahoma, Courtney provided expert representation throughout the audit and debt resolution process, developing effective defense strategies for IRS audits, appeals, and Tax Court litigation. Her background also includes tax strategy and planning for start-ups and entity organization.
While earning her Master of Laws in Taxation from the University of Denver’s Sturm College of Law, Courtney actively participated in the university’s Low Income Taxpayer Clinic (“LITC”), providing crucial assistance to those in need. Her experience with the LITC ignited a deep-seated desire to advocate for others, and she has channeled that passion into a career focused on helping taxpayers navigate their interactions with taxing authorities.
Beyond her legal acumen, Courtney finds joy in the rural landscape of West Georgia, where she and her family share their home with horses, turkeys, chickens, two dogs, and a cat. This connection to her community and the values of home fuels her dedication to assisting taxpayers in resolving their state and IRS tax issues. She is enthusiastic about leveraging her extensive knowledge and experience to provide effective and compassionate representation for individuals and businesses facing tax challenges.
